The French Portfolio is a collection of nine platinum-palladium metal prints on paper. The images were made during an extended trip to France by the artist in 2012 and 2013. Collectively and directly these images represent a quiet and contemplative France away from the crowds of summer. And while one or two of the images can only be placed in present day France, many of the prints suggest pan-European cultural and natural landscapes.
Each portfolio contains nine mounted and matted prints and is presented in a handcrafted slip case. The portfolios are issued from an edition of twelve. Additionally, six of the nine portfolio prints are available individually from an edition of three.
The portfolio prints:
- Pyrenean Peak and Tree
- Stone Abstract
- Sailboat, Cannes
- Chairs in the Tuileries Garden
- Boat on the Loire
- Fontainebleau Forest
- Sailboat on the Mediterranean
- Pyrénéen Peak et Arbre
- Pierre Abstrait
- Voilier , Cannes
- Chaises dans le Jardin des Tuileries
- Bateau sur la Loire
- Forêt de Fontainebleau
- Voilier sur la Méditerranée
Each image is approximately 5-5/8″ x 7-1/2″ and is printed on an 8″ x 10″ sheet of heavy-weight Bergger cotton rag paper. All prints are corner mounted on a square 15-3/4″ x 15-3/4″ archival backing board for framing.
Notes: Portfolio and individual print prices are available upon request. All prints are corner mounted and matted. The following images are not available outside of the portfolio: ‘Pyrenean Peak and Tree’, ‘Sailboat, Cannes’, ‘Fontainebleau Forest’.
Digital Images: It is not possible to capture the look, texture, and glowing subtle tonality of a platinum print on pixelated screens. The images impart a warm cast due to the presence of the palladium metal. Consider the digital thumbnail and gallery images above only an approximation of the physical print.
